Five Questions For Kelly Clarkson

Here are five questions that CosmoGirl magazine recently asked Kelly Clarkson.
YOU SAY YOU ARE A VERY SPIRITUAL PERSON. WAS THAT SOMETHING YOU TURNED TO FOR HOPE AND FAITH WHEN TIMES WERE TOUGH?
Im actually not a big fan of the word hope. I think its a depressing word. I dont want to hope I want to know. Like I dont hope theres a God, I know theres a God. When I was a kid, about 7 or 8, we lived in Fort Worth in this complex and we literally had nothing to do. So my spirituality kept me out of trouble. A girl who lived in the complex asked me if I wanted to go to church with her. It was a black church, and I was one of five white people there. Everyone was clapping and singing, full of joy and life. I only went there once, but it was my first church experience, and I loved it. They were all having fun and I thought, This is for me.
DO YOU STILL HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS FROM HOME?
My best friend and I come from similar backgrounds were both from divorced families, and we are literally like sisters. I have two other friends Im very close to who also live in Texas. I love my family, but sometimes I think your friends become your family.
DO PEOPLE TRY TO FIX YOU UP WITH GUYS?
All the time! And Im like, Really, I dont think its going to work. Ive done it once. People think they know you and what you will like, and it just ends up being embarrassing.
YOU ARE A NATURAL IN YOUR MUSIC VIDEOS, SO DO YOU EVER THINK ABOUT GOING INTO ACTING?
When I went to Los Angeles right after high school, I got some acting jobs, and I never, ever wanted to be an actress! Public speaking and acting make me want to vomit. But I have never been nervous singing. When it comes to public speaking, I stumble on my words, sweat, and pull at my clothes. And even though I hate acting, I love doing videos for my songs. The only reason I did some acting when I first moved here on shows like Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Dharma & Greg was for extra money.
WOULD YOU EVER WANT TO LIVE IN L.A.?
I guess if I got married and my husband worked there, I might part of the time, but Im always going to live in Texas. Texas is my home itll be my home forever.
